Moonshot
A few years ago, I tried to take some astrophoto’s with my telescope. The results were “mixed”.
I have been toying with the idea of getting back into the hobby. It was always something I enjoyed.
Last weekend, I dusted off my telescope and DSLR camera with the intention of taking a picture of the Moon and Jupiter.
Unfortunately, my telescope tracking mount seemed to have stopped working. Jupiter was a disaster, so I’m not even including a picture of that!
This is the shot I took of the moon. It was taken using a “Live View” recording of the camera and processing it in a piece of software called Autostakkert!
Now for the excuses!
The lack of a working drive meant that tracking was impossible. The seeing was terrible and clouds had started coming up from the south.
The good news is that I “think” I’ve got the mount working again, so I will attempt more pictures in the near future.
I’ll keep you posted.
